Nowadays Córdoba is quite an active city. Shows and cultural events are daily programmed throughout the many flourishing spaces the city has to that end. We have gathered here the most relevant sites in the web, so you are at all times informed about what is happening in the city.
This first edition of FLORA brought 8 international floral artists that transformed the Festival’s chosen patios into 8 unrecognizable stunning spaces. Located in some of the most representative buildings of Córdoba, this works have resulted in a delightful little tour through memory, art and heritage. These ephemeral floral installations will be open to the general public from the 20th to the 29th of October.

L'accueil est parfait, la localisation de l'hôtel est idéale car à proximité des activités tout en étant très calme. La décoration des chambres est sobre et moderne. Elles sont spacieuses et lumineuses, le tout organisé autour d'un joli patio.
Hidden Gem
This hotel was such a special surprise. It was hidden away on a tiny cobblestone street in the quietest part of town. Immaculately clean with wonderful personal hospitality and beautifully decorated. I would stay there again with pleasure. I had a wonderful breakfast on departure day.

Very central in Cordoba, peaceful, calm, beautiful room, friendly staff, lovely stay. Its not v obvious and chintzy which some places in Cordoba can be. Next time we will plan ahead and ask for the meditation session too.

We only had one night in this hotel unfortunately. Our room was lovely and the shower and bathroom huge.

kleines, tolles hotel. Ganz persönlich geführtes Hotel, in einem historischen Gebäude modern interpretiert. Sehr geschmackvoll, sauber und ruhig. Zu erwähnen ist das gesamte Personal, welches bei Empfehlungen für Restaurants und anderen Fragen immer tolle Tipps gegeben haben. Die Zimmer sind sehr unterschiedlich. Wir hatten ein sehr kleines, kuscheliges Zimmer im 1. Stock. Für drei Nächte völlig ausreichend. Bei Temperaturen um 40 Grad haben wir die kleine Dach-Terrasse leider nicht genießen können, sonst ein toller Ort, um mal zu relaxen. Alles in allem ein schöner Aufenthalt. Danke an Carmen , Gerardo und sein Team!
"A fantastic renovation"
So cool. Whitewashed rooms with stained concrete floors. Simple modern furnishings. Great rainforest shower with frosted glass doors. Lots of natural light. Interior courtyard with a lounge. Pretty table setting for breakfast - coffee, homemade cake, toast with olive oil, tomato and shaved Iberico ham. Very friendly staff... Highly recommend this beautiful place.
Luxurious hospitality. When we got to Córdoba it was 108ºF and we could not be more miserable. Then we walked into Viento 10 and Gerrardo, the owner, greeted us with refreshing lemonade and a friendly conversation, exactly what we needed. The rest followed suit, with his recommendations for restaurants and the beautiful room and amenities, which included access to a spa.........

Es un hotel muy tranquilo, bien ubicado. El trato excelente y el desayuno, inmejorable. Las habitaciones tienen buen tamaño, con camas cómodas. Todo está muy limpio y mimado, hasta el olor, muy agradable por las flores que decoran el hotel. Muy recomendable.

Furthermore, and this may be even more valuable, it contains a series of texts and articles that bring us closer to that genuine essence of our Flamenco Art.
Among them, I have particularly enjoyed one: Notes on a tribute to La Niña de los Peines by Cristina Cruces Roldán, professor of Social Anthropology at the University of Sevilla. The article includes a hilarious story that occurred to La Niña de los Peines. In it we can see how this sort of Contests and events used to be in their beginning: a mythical time when artists would tour the taverns looking for someone to pay for their party only to starve the following morning. That party spirit and its consequences made many of our best flamenco artists what the were: legendary unforgettable heroes.
En la noche de paños mojados del verano de Sevilla no hay quien aguante un sombrero. El calor va destocando a la gente, levantándoles la tapa de las orzas de peluconas del cante grande, y por su acera de la Campana, el Pinto, el Culata, Vallejo y Mairena, extraviados los bisoñés de los teatros, sacan a relucir las calvas de barro de los cafés cantantes, acabaditas de cocer en la Cartuja y de vidriar en la calle de Alfarería. De pronto sobreviene una voz indecible, levanta la tormenta sus telones, y una llama aparece en el punto más brillante de cada una de las calvas ilustres. Tiene ojos a flor de piel como ídolo de pagoda. Para vestirse ha cogido un trozo de cielo negro, con estrellas y todo, y se lo ha metido por la cabeza. Dada la insultante condición de las calvas, sus cuatro titulares se las cubren, respetuosos.
Al maestro Mairena le asoma bajo el ala negra una patilla de bandolero; tiene en la boca el huevo de Colón y no se decide a escupirlo. Habla Pastora, nacida de su propia voz por obra y gracia de los mengues:
- Pa qué quiero los peines de mi nombre, si no tengo más que pelones a mi vera...
Pepe el Culata presta un servicio a la moral pública espantándose dos moscas de su azotea portátil, y Pepe
Pinto filosofa resignado:
- Dios le da peines al que no tiene pelos...
Como del Pasaje del Duque surgen entonces don Santiago Montoto, C. de la Real Academia, y don Rafael Montesinos, premio nacional de literatura, que lucen las indumentarias deportivas del Betis Balompié y del Sevilla F.C., respectivamente, y dirigiéndose a Pastora le dicen que en lo sucesivo haga el favor de citar los nombres de los autores de las letras que canta. De la calle de Sierpes –del Burrero o del Nacional- desemboca don Manolito Machado, sudando la gota gorda por empeñarse en ir de capa y sombrero, y encarándose con los dos futbolistas les espeta unas coplas alusivas, de su invención, sin que ellos se den por aludidos.
Pastora apacienta a sus corderos:
- Ea..., po ahora voy a canta una petenera.
Y empieza:
- “Niño que encuero y descarso vas yorando por la calle”...
Trata Montoto de interrumpirla:
- Así no es. Así no es. “Niño que, lleno de harapos”... es lo que escribió mi padre.
- Se quiere usté cayá... –dice uno de los calvos apóstoles.
Pastora no se interrumpe:
- “Ven acá y yora conmigo”...
- “Ven y juntos lloraremo”... – corrige Montoto “sotto voce”.
- Pero hombre –le hace ver Machado-, ¿no ve usted que se lo está arreglando? ¡Si encima debiera estarle agradecido!
Acaba la Niña de cantar, y salen de un camión de pescado, el Beni de Cádiz y su hermano Amós, mientras Aurelio Sellés entona la malagueña del Mellizo.
- ¡Pero esto qué e..., tanto jumo y tanto gori-gori!... ¿Es que ya me queréis ver criando jaramagos?... ¡Abanicos y ventiladores!
A la voz de tan divina Pastora hacen eco otras alas negras, recubiertas de escamas sutilísimas: es el gran Pavón, la mariposa nocturna.
- Voy a cantarles a ustedes las soleares de mi Tomá...
Y se pone a cantar, y cómo cantará que, para ver si es verdad lo que se oye, el incrédulo de “su” Tomás baja de lo alto a hurgarle con los dedos en la llaga que se le acaba de abrir en la canción”.
